Hi, my name is

Mathias Grund Lehmann Sørensen

Directional Tech Leadership

I step in when technical direction really matters.

I’m brought in when the technology is complex, the stakes are high, and leadership needs to set a direction they can stand behind. My strength is going deep into the technology, identifying what truly matters, and communicating it so non-technical stakeholders can reason about it with confidence.

I help leaders understand complex technology well enough to make real decisions, without needing to become experts themselves.

That clarity makes opportunities, risks, and trade-offs visible.

How I work

I combine deep technical understanding with a strong sense for people and business.

When I encounter a complex technology or problem space, I go deep enough to build a correct mental model. Then I focus on what leaders actually need to know to make decisions: what matters, what doesn’t, where the risks are, and where the real opportunities lie.

I’m often described as someone who understands both deep tech and people. That combination allows me to bridge gaps between engineers, product, and leadership without diluting the technical truth.

I do my best work before execution becomes the main challenge: when understanding is still forming and decisions are still cheap to change. This is usually during conceptualization, kickoff, transition, or course-correction phases, where clarity has the highest leverage.

I’m not aiming to own everything forever. I’m most effective when there is a real decision to be made and a mandate to shape direction. I set you up for success, then step back once the path is clear.

I’m based in Aarhus, Denmark. Also available remotely, with selective travel.
